NORTH WEBSTER - The 10th annual Pro-Life Music Festival will bring more than 40 Christian bands to North Webster this weekend.

The festival will kick off today at 2 p.m. with the band Seabird and continue with concerts by Christian artists through Saturday. Admission is $5 per person.

The three-day festival will feature bands representing a variety of genres of Christian music. Two of this year's headliners are Stellar Kart and Superchick. There also will be speakers during the festival who will address pro-life topics.

To get to the festival, take Ind. 13 and turn east on CR 500N.

The festival will continue Friday from 10 a.m. to midnight and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. A closing worship service will be Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The festival is being sponsored by Grace College and Remedy.fm.

Proceeds go toward Pro-Life Music Festival.

Festival organizer Martt Clupper, Warsaw, said this is the first year the festival is in North Webster. Clupper organized the first festival in 1999.

The festival has been at the Grace College athletic fields in Winona Lake for the past two years, but has grown so it was moved it to North Webster.

"We had trouble accommodating enough parking in Winona Lake, and we think this new location will provide better parking and have room for more bands and stages," Clupper said.

There were approximately 9,000 people who attended last year's festival, and this year's goal is to draw 10,000 people.

He said a mother and daughter are coming from as far as the state of Washington to attend this year's festival.

While the festival features music to appeal to audiences of all ages, its focus is on high school and college students.

"There is a whole generation of adults who were raised on rock music, and sometimes later in life they turn to Christian rock music, so they also are encouraged to attend," Clupper said.
