FORT?WAYNE – The Warsaw volleyball team overcame a 2-1 deficit for a 3-2 win Monday at Homestead.
The Lady Tigers (6-1) won the first game 27-25 before dropping the next two 27-25 and 25-20.
They rebounded with a 25-10 win in Game 4 before cruising to a 15-8, match-clinching fifth game.
Kacy Bragg led Warsaw with 45 assists, eight digs and six kills, while Erin Peugh tallied 24 digs and six skills.
Kennedy Lauck was strong at the net with 11 kills and 10 blocks for Warsaw, while Betty Barnett tallied 15 kills and seven digs.
Warsaw’s Kylie Smith registered 16 digs, while Rachel Yeager spiked six kills and Cora West recorded six digs.
Wawasee Volleyball Comes Up Big At Lakeland
LAGRANGE – The Wawasee volleyball pulled out a close Game 5 win for the 3-2 victory Monday at Lakeland.
Wawasee won by scores of 11-25, 26-24, 25-21, 16-25 and 15-12.
The Lady?warriors were led by Madison Simmons’ 13 kills and 14 digs.
Elizabeth Kleopfer tallied 26 assists and 11 digs for Wawasee, while Molly Jones recorded eight kills, and Hannah Gaerte had seven kills and nine digs.
Triton Volleyball Blanked By Rochester
BOURBON – The Triton volleyball team lost 3-0 at Rochester on Monday.
Triton lost 25-13, 25-14, and 25-21.
Dylanie Miller had 12 assists for the Lady Trojans, while Lexia Hostrawser and Abbey Viers tallied six kills each.
Wawasee JV Football Defeats Lakeland
SYRACUSE – The Wawasee JV?football team beat Lakeland, 16-12 on Monday at Wawasee?High School.
Zach Elliott ran for a touchdown in the second quarter, while Kameron Salazar ran a kick return back for a touchdown.
Salazar also caught two passes for 2-point conversions.
Wawasee JV Volleyball Pulls Off Sweep
SYRACUSE – Delaney Hare posted six digs and six aces to lead the Wawasee JV volleyball team to a 2-0 win at Lakeland.
The Lady Warriors (6-1) won 25-21, 25-11.
Wawasee’s Kai Jamora tallied eight assists, Emma Dippon had six kills, Morgan Heche registered six digs and Leslie Vazquez recorded five aces.
Monday Sporting Events Postponed Due To Weather
BOURBON – The boys tennis match between Triton and Logansport that was set for Monday was postponed because of rainfall.
The match will be played at 5 p.m. Thursday at Triton High School.
The Warsaw boys tennis team’s match against Mishawaka Marian also was postponed.
The make-up date is to be determined.
Also postponed was the Warsaw girls golf match against Plymouth. The match will be played Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Plymouth High School.
Another match postponed was the Whitko girls golf match at Wabash.
The match will be made up at a date to be determined.
Warsaw To Hold Girls Basketball Fall League
WARSAW – Warsaw Girls Basketball Development Program’s Fall?League will be held Sundays from Aug. 26 to Oct. 14 at Warsaw High?School.
Each session will be from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is for girls in grades 4-8 who attend Warsaw Community Schools.
The cost is $50 per girl. The program will consist 90 minutes of skill development followed by 3-on-3 games each week.
Players will learn aspects of the game including setting screens, receiving a screen and moving without the ball.
Any parents or guardians interested in their children participating should take them to the Tiger Den by entering Door No. 31 and fill out the required paperwork.
