A pregnant 5-year-old dog went missing after a car ride to Aldi Thursday. The dog’s owner, Jackie Hamilton, Warsaw, said she and her sisters-in-law, Tina Flores and Estalena Hamilton, were shopping at Aldi in Warsaw Thursday night. When they returned to the vehicle from the store Hamilton’s dog, Halfpint, a Peekapoo, was gone. They had eight people searching for the dog until 10 p.m. Thursday and searched again for Halfpint Friday. The dog has long black hair and white on her neck, chest and paws. She does not have a dog collar because it kept getting tangled up, Hamilton said. “She is due to have her babies anytime and it’s her first pregnancy,” Hamilton said. Hamilton said Halfpint was born when she lived in Kentucky. “I think she had to use the bathroom and got out and was confused and scared and went into the woods behind Aldi,” Hamilton said. Hamilton and her family members spent Friday searching for the dog and putting up flyers. They also went to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County to fill out a lost pet report. A $50 cash reward is being offered for Halfpint’s return. If the dog is found, call Hamilton at 574-265-1698 or Flores at 574-265-3775.
