Poverty Run, Ride, Walk Challenge Planned In Winona Lake

WINONA LAKE – There will be an Erase Hunger Trail Run, Ride and Walk for Fun Sept. 22-23 in Winona Lake. The events will start in the Old Chicago Boys Club Trails in Winona Lake. There will be a team relay mountain bike race at noon with on-site registration beginning at 8 a.m. The run and walk for fun is at 9 a.m. and registration is at 7:30 a.m. In 2009, 2nd Mile Adventures and 2nd Mile Missions put on a bicycle tour to help raise money for 2nd Mile Missions to prevent the cycle of poverty in Bavaro, Dominican Republic. In 2010, a trail run and walk and a mountain bike ride was planned to benefit Fellowship Missions, a homeless shelter in Warsaw. In 2011, Kosciusko County Velo Cycling Club and 2nd Mile Missions held a full-day ride, run and walk to help end poverty both locally and abroad.
