Police Respond to Burglary, Fight

Posted
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies are seeking charges against three individuals involved in a burglary Wednesday evening at Suburban Acres Mobile Home Park, Warsaw.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to the trailer park at 3699 N. CR 175E, where a burglary in progress was reported.

According to KCSD Captain Aaron Rovenstine, a family member of the mobile home owner arrived at the residence and observed approximately four people inside. When the suspects attempted to flee, a fight ensued between the witness and one of the suspects.

The suspect involved in the physical altercation was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital with facial injuries, which consisted of a possible broken jaw.

Rovenstine stated information related to the incident will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office for potential criminal charges.

A second suspect, a male juvenile, was taken into custody at the scene and released to his parents.

The third suspect was identified by neighbors and, with the help of a police K9, was also taken into custody at his residence in the mobile home park.

Rovenstine said it is unclear if a fourth suspect was actually involved.

If anyone has additional information on the case, they are asked to call the KCSD at 574-267-5667.

The KCSD was assisted at the scene by Warsaw and Winona Lake police departments and Multi-Township EMS.
