Police Probe Break-In At Gunshop

Posted

Police are investigating a break-in to a local gun shop, where a hole was cut into the building, but it is not known whether anything is missing.

Warsaw police were notified at 2:10 a.m. today of an alarm at Little Hawks Knives & Collectibles, Warren Street, Warsaw.

When police arrived, a concrete saw, a 3-foot crowbar and insulation and sheet metal were found on the ground outside the hole on the south side of the business. Police said the hole was too small for someone to crawl through, but large enough to pull guns through.

Many guns that were in racks on the wall where the hole was made were found on the floor of the business. The owners were notified of the break-in and came to the scene, but said an inventory will have to be completed to determine whether any guns are missing.

Nobody was found inside or in the immediate area. A K-9 track of the area ended unsuccessfully. Police believe the suspect or suspects left in a vehicle parked nearby.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Warsaw Police Department at 372-9511.
