Police Department Bike Sale Saturday

Posted
The Warsaw Police Department annual bike sale is Saturday at 9 a.m.  at 2191 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw.

WPD Detective Lt. Steve Adang said there are more than 100 bikes that have been recovered or have not been returned to their owners. Adang said this is a time for kids who just got out of school to get a cheap bike.

“If there is a bike that a kid likes or wants, we will work with him to make sure he gets a chance to purchase that bike,” Adang said. “It’s tough sometimes, because scrap collectors come by and buy a lot of bikes for cheap and others buy them in bulk for parts. If it was up to me I would give the bikes to the kids, but I can’t.”

The money raised from the bike sale goes into the local WPD pension fund.
