Battery Puts Man Back in Jail
NORTH WEBSTER – A North Webster man is back behind bars after only being out of the Kosciusko County Jail for five hours.

Dakota Marcus Meade, 20, North Webster, was arrested for battery and transported to the Kosciusko County Jail. His bond was set at $500.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded Thursday evening to a fight-in-progress call at the Ponderosa Housing Addition located southeast of North Webster.

KCSD and North Webster Police Department officers arrived shortly before 6:30 p.m. at 9500 E. Ponderosa Drive and met with the battered victim, Johnny Isaac, 52, who had obvious facial injuries.

Isaac told officers that Meade came to his mobile home trailer after just being released from jail Thursday. Isaac explained that Meade was no longer welcomed at his home where he had previously lived before being arrested Feb. 8.

Meade had been arrested and convicted on a theft/conversion charge through Kosciusko County.

Isaac went on to say that his wife had gone to retrieve Meade’s personal belongings as he stepped outside the residence. Isaac stated that at this point the verbal confrontation became physical as he was taken to the ground by Meade and struck several times in the head. Meade then fled the scene, according to Isaac and a witness.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Dept. K-9 handler Travis Shively responded to the scene and began to track Meade into a nearby wooded area. Shively and his canine located Meade a short time later hiding in a dense brush area and took him into custody without incident.
