Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department deputies and emergency rescue personnel responded Friday to a personal injury accident on U.S. 30 at CR 900E at about 3:52 p.m.
Emergency responders arrived and immediately requested Parkview Samaritan to airlift one of the drivers due to injuries.
Ronda K. Harris, Pierceton, was extracted by the Pierceton Fire Department from her vehicle and airlifted to Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne, in serious condition with head injuries.
KCSD deputies stated that Garrett C. Craig, 16, Pierceton, was northbound on CR 900E in a red Dodge pickup truck and had entered into the median cross-over. Craig stated that he did not see the westbound gold Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Harris, and pulled into westbound lanes of U.S. 30, striking her vehicle. Craig was reportedly not injured from the crash.
KCSD stated the crash is still under investigation at this time. Traffic along U.S. 30 was backed up or delayed for almost an hour due to the crash.
