PIERCETON -ÊA Pierceton man was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne after a gun-related accident Friday night.
According to a report for the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Donald J. Prater, of 5985 Old Road 30E, Pierceton, was injured in his home after a gun discharged.
Prater said he dropped the gun on the floor and it discharged. A bullet hit Prater in the armpit and lodged in the back of his neck.
Prater was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital and was later airlifted to Parkview.
Prater was released from Parkview Hospital Saturday.
