Pat Lucas Retiring After 40 Years In Realty Business

Posted
Pat Lucas uses the word "love" when talking about her business and the people she worked with.

And now after 40 years, she will retire as a realtor, the profession she loves.

Pat was first licensed in 1968. In 1974, she and her late husband, Paul "Bud" Lucas, started Lucas Realtors in Warsaw. The business started on Winona Avenue before moving to 525 E. Center St. in 1978.When her husband died, Pat owned and operated her business along with Dan Widaman and Shelley Johnson from 1998 until 2005. In 2007, the Lucas Realty building was sold to Jerry Clevenger.

"The success and longevity of the business is due entirely to the devoted agents we've had over the years," Pat said. "I love them all and they are the reason for the great success."

She has served in a variety of positions for the Kosciusko County Board of Realtors. She's been the board's secretary, president and also has served on the board of directors.

She is a lifetime member of the Realtors political action committee, and during her 40 years as a realtor made a point of continuing her education.

Even though she has received an array of awards for her work, including being named the county's "Realtor of the Year" in 1986, she gives the credit to those she worked with.

There will be an open house for Pat Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Remax, 358 Enterprise Drive, Warsaw.
