Families will have the opportunity to kick off fall by participating in an event at Lucerne Park.
The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department will hold a free Fall Family Fun event Oct. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will include hayrides, food, storytellers and crafts for children and their families.
"This is an event that will allow families to interact and let people know we have many park facilities," said Parks Department Activities Director Janelle Wilson.
There were approximately 200 people who participated in last year's event.
Fall-themed crafts and activities will be in the cabin, including coloring fall pictures and fall sticker projects.
Goody bags also will be distributed to children and snacks will be available. Lighted carved pumpkins will line the sidewalk leading up to the cabin.
Bob and Kathie Myers, of The Story Peddlers, Elkhart, will tell stories for all ages from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. and 7 to 7:30 p.m.
"Lucerne Park provides a beautiful fall setting for this event," Wilson said.
