Paddock Springs Senior Living presented a $1,510 check to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana during a ceremony Wednesday, celebrating funds raised at the facility’s annual car show earlier this summer.
The check was handed over by Stacey Leek, director of sales at Paddock Springs, to Stacey Stumpf, development and marketing director at Cancer Services.
The gift will support services for cancer patients and their caregivers, including financial assistance, counseling, wigs, wellness programs and oncology massage therapy, all offered at no cost to clients.
“We are serving more people than ever, and it confirms our belief that opening a local office here was the right move,” Stumpf said, noting the nonprofit’s Warsaw office on North Point Drive helps bring resources closer to residents of Kosciusko County. “We’re grateful to Paddock Springs for helping us make that possible.”
The donation was made possible through Paddock Springs’ Aug. 1 car show, which drew nearly 70 classic cars, food vendors, a DJ and activities for children including a racing simulator and bounce house.
The event has become the facility’s largest yearly fundraiser, attracting steady crowds throughout the evening.
“This was our biggest show yet,” Leek said. “We had great weather, a full parking lot and wonderful community support. It’s an honor for us to be able to support organizations like Cancer Services.”
Following the presentation, Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce Community Engagement Specialist Scott Wiley recognized Paddock Springs with a Kosciusko Kudos.
The designation honors individuals and businesses that “go above and beyond in the workplace.”
Wiley presented the honor to Leek and Administrator-in-Training Raquel Kline on behalf of the Chamber.
Paddock Springs, which opened in 2019, describes itself as a senior living community offering skilled nursing care, memory care and a variety of programs designed to keep residents active and engaged.
Alongside the car show, the facility hosts themed dinners, casino nights and other events throughout the year to connect residents and the wider community.
“It was a fun event that also allowed us to shine a light on a critical local resource,” Leek said. “We’re proud to play a role in supporting the community we serve.”
