Our Father's House will hold its annual school supply and clothing giveaway for students Saturday.
The giveaway will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Warsaw store, 401 Argonne Road. It is open to school-age children accompanied by an adult.
This year is the eighth year for the giveaway. Last year, more than 500 students were served.Roz Morgan, Our Father's House founding director, said students will receive free school supplies, including pencils, paper, glue, scissors, crayons, backpacks, folders and binders.
The children also will be allowed to select three gently used outfits free of charge. Students will receive new underwear and socks.
The supplies have been donated by local churches, residents and businesses.
"The supply giveaway would not be possible without the help of those who have donated," Morgan said.
She said with high gas and food costs, it will be more difficult for parents to afford school supplies for their children.
"I have a profound respect for the families who cannot afford supplies on their own," Morgan said.
Donna Helton, Our Father's House volunteer, said last year there were people lined up outside the store two hours before it opened, waiting to receive school supplies and clothing.
"Our goal is to be able to provide students with three outfits that look nice and school supplies to start their school year," Helton said.
