One Dead, Others Injured In Morning Incident

Posted

Details are sketchy in a morning incident at a Warsaw business that left one man dead and at least two people injured.

No names are being released in connection with the attack on employees at The Cutting Edge in Woodland Plaza.

Police were called to the business at 9:21 a.m., shortly after it opened today, and found the alleged suspect in the incident dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Detective Sgt. Steve Adang of the Warsaw Police Department said that at least one employee was cut with a knife and that a total of two to three people were injured in the attack. Adang said authorities also are investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred at the business this morning.

Adang said he did not have information as to the names of all those involved and at press time was preparing to interview at least two uninjured employees who witnessed the incident. Indiana State Police were assisting with the interviews. It was not known whether any customers were in the store at the time of the attack.

Police were having a small red car parked a short distance from The Cutting Edge impounded about an hour after the incident. Officials did not say if the car belonged to the suspect.
