One Dead, Another in Serious Condition after Milford Crash

MILFORD – One person is dead and another in critical condition after a single-vehicle crash along Ind. 15 Sunday night in Kosciusko County. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies and emergency personnel responded Sunday night at 10:54 p.m. to a report of a vehicular crash on Ind. 15, just south of CR 900N, according to a press release. Officers arrived and located a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck that had impacted a tree, crushing the entire front portion of the vehicle. The driver, identified as Jason S. Watson, 37, Warsaw, was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma by Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson. The front seat passenger, identified as Ellen Myers, 22, Warsaw, was extricated by the Milford Fire Department and immediately airlifted from the scene by Samaritan helicopter. Myers was listed in critical but stable condition this morning at Parkview Regional Medical Center with severe injuries to her leg, as well as additional torso and arm injuries. Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team investigators stated that the preliminary investigation of the crash determined that Watson had been traveling northbound on Ind. 15, and for an unknown reason went left of center. Watson’s vehicle continued off the west side of the roadway and then impacted a tree head-on. Kosciusko County FACT stated that the crash is still under investigation and are awaiting toxicology lab results as required by Indiana law. Assisting at the scene was the Indiana State Police.
