One Brother Arrested After Both Allegedly Swallow pot

A Warsaw man was arrested early this morning after he and his brother allegedly swallowed marijuana after being stopped for a traffic violation.
According to Warsaw Police Department Lt. Kip Shuter, officers made the traffic stop just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday off of North Lake Street in Warsaw. As an officer approached the vehicle, he smelled marijuana and noticed the driver, identified as Moses Michael Lloyd, 35, of 1821 Nye St., Warsaw, was shaking and had dilated pupils. The officer also noticed the driver had a substantial amount of material in his mouth, causing his cheeks to bulge.
Shuter said Moses Lloyd would not answer the officer’s questions because his mouth was full but refused to spit the substance out. The officer attempted to apply pressure to a point on Moses Lloyd’s neck in an attempt to prevent him from swallowing, but was unsuccessful and Moses Lloyd eventually swallowed the substance.
Moses Lloyd then admitted he had swallowed marijuana and an ambulance was called for a drug overdose.
Shuter said Moses Lloyd then exited the car and began walking away, then running, from the officer. The officer then restrained him but Moses Lloyd continued to resist. Eventually the officer used a stun gun to subdue the man but Moses Lloyd continued to behave belligerently.
Moses Lloyd was brought under control and as he was being taken into custody, Shuter said an officer noticed Moses Lloyd’s brother, Ephraim Lloyd, who was still in the car, reach into the glove compartment. An officer detained him and noticed a plant-like material inside and around his mouth.
Ephraim Lloyd admitted he had also swallowed marijuana so a second ambulance was called to the scene.
Moses Lloyd was arrested and preliminarily charged with obstructing justice, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia and is being held on a $2,000 bond.
Charges are being sought against Ephraim Lloyd for obstructing justice, possession of marijuana with a prior and possession of paraphernalia.
