Oldies 101, WIOE announced the acquisition of WLYV 1450 and 104.3 in Fort Wayne.

Oldies 101 started broadcasting its signal over all frequencies at 9 p.m. Sunday.

According to owner Brian Walsh, the oldies format will continue over all frequencies.  Walsh stated that as of Saturday afternoon, WLYV 1450am turned to an AM stereo station.

"This will give our AM listeners a wonderful experience," Walsh said. "It sounds as good as FM now."

The big surprise for the listeners include a new morning host familiar with the area.  Chris Roberts, of Classic Hits 99.7 in Paulding/Van Wert, Ohio, and formerly of WOWO, broadcasted his inaugural morning show on Oldies 101, 104.3 and Stereo 1450, as well as 99.7 on Monday. Roberts’ morning show features news and sports reports with Scott Truxell and the oldies that listeners have grown to love and expect.

Walsh emphasizes that listeners will notice some changes and improvements but should know that the familiar oldies format will still be the driving force in the programming of the stations.

"The major change is our coverage,” Walsh said. "Now you can hear WIOE from Plymouth to Ohio, and Anderson to Michigan. It's an exciting time!"
