Diane Grose will retire as Oakwood Cemetery's secretary after 14 years Friday.
Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins, Oakwood Cemetery Sexton Hal Heagy and Oakwood Cemetery Board of Regents members presented Grose with a plaque to honor her for her service Wednesday afternoon at the cemetery.
An open house will be Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the cemetery office for Grose.
Grose has served as the cemetery's secretary since 1996. She first started working for the city in 1988 as secretary at the city's sewage department office.
Grose's daughter, Leigh Ann Denlinger, Warsaw, will serve as the cemetery's new secretary and started training last Wednesday.
Grose's son, Jeff, serves as a city council representative on the cemetery board and her husband, Frank, has been employed as a groundskeeper with the cemetery since 2005.
Grose said she has seen many changes at the cemetery over the years including new burial sections being added, a chapel and shop being built and a new Legion Circle has been completed.
Grose said she will miss the cemetery employees and city staff the most.
