The Oakwood Cemetery Regency Board met Thursday, answering questions regarding the resale of cemetery plats.
Members verified resales must be completed through the Oakwood Cemetery office and resale values cannot exceed the original cost of the cemetery lot. A $5 fee also is required in order for deeds to change hands.
Sexton David Shaw said the cost regulation is in place to prevent individuals from buying numerous lots inside of Oakwood and selling them to make a profit.
In other issues, the board is waiting for Phend and Brown to begin work on Legion Avenue. The construction will realign the road to provide access to newly constructed crypts.
Members reported 21 burials in October, and approved 6 deeds for additional plats.
"We've got everything in order for the winter months," Shaw said. "We're just waiting for the last leaf to fall."
Present board members were Lewis Dobbins, Warren Tatter, Ellen Hoffer and Bob Sandy.
