North Webster Town Marshal Greg Church told council Tuesday that he hopes next month to sell a squad car damaged when it hit a deer.
The department is selling a 2004 Crown Victoria. Church said that while the car has front-end damage, the engine is good and the car is mechanically fine.
Those interested can call 574-834-2700 to set up an appointment to look at the car.
The car will be sold through a sealed bid process.
People can place their sealed bids in an envelope with their name, address and phone number and turn it in to the North Webster Town Hall.
The bids will be opened at the town council’s March 20 meeting.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m.
The board also met the new public works manager for the town.
Severn Trent recently hired Mike Noe to be the town’s public works manager, replacing Greg Gear.
The town council approved an appropriation of $10,000 to use toward property on the 300 block of Himes Street.
The property will be used for more town parking for the Dixie Boat and local businesses.
The council approved contracts of $1,600 with Ed Allen and $450 with Brian Likens to remove a mobile home on the property and tear out concrete respectively.
The project is expected to be finished this spring.
