Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
NORTH WEBSTER - North Webster swore in a new police officer Wednesday night at its town council meeting.
Darrell Sopher, a North Webster native, joined the force after serving as a reserve officer for 1-1/2 years.
In other news, the Kiwanis Club updated the council on its flag display program. The group has raised two-thirds of the funds needed to place 130 flags along Ind. 13.
The council also signed a contract to begin the infrastructure on the senior housing project. Phend & Brown plan to begin moving earth on the project within the next week.
The bidding for the duplex building project is re-advertised until the middle of August. The timetable is expected to be delayed a month to six weeks, depending on the weather.
