A 42-year-old North Webster man was arrested Thursday after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a female under the age of 16. According to an affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officer met with the girl’s father who advised his daughter said Toby Young, 42, of 6127 N. CR 950E, North Webster, had sex with her. The officer spoke with the girl who advised she had engaged in sexual activities with Young and that the inappropriate relationship began in December 2010 or early January 2011. According to the affidavit, Young began giving the girl cigarettes and expected sexual favors in return. Young began touching her inappropriately and the relationship eventually progressed to sex. After one instance, Young allegedly told the girl that if she told anyone he would not give her any more cigarettes. Officers later spoke with Young who denied the relationship and advised he thought the girl made allegations against him because he told her he would not give her any more cigarettes. Young was subsequently arrested on a charge of felony sexual misconduct with a minor and held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
