Does someone you know have a "Heart of Gold"?
Kosciusko County Community Foundation Inc. is seeking nominations for area residents with "Hearts of Gold."
Recipients are "everyday" citizens who serve others in extraordinary ways. People exhibiting a Heart of Gold may have: identified and filled a need, worked to create a positive change, inspired others to volunteer, performed an exceptional act of kindness, recognized an opportunity and acted on it, shared time and energy for the sake of others, overcome unusual challenges to serve others or rendered a service that changed a life.
Any person, regardless of age, who enhances the quality of life of someone else or the community is eligible to be nominated. Award recipients will have the opportunity to be recognized at a reception at Center Lake Pavilion March 27. In addition, they will have the opportunity to direct a Community Foundation grant, in their name and honor, to the nonprofit organization of their choice. Last year's Heart of Gold recipients recommended grants totaling more than $7,000.
Applications will be accepted at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation until March 3. Completed applications can be sent to the Community Foundation at 102 E. Market St., Warsaw, IN 46580, c/o "Heart of Gold Awards."
If you have any questions about the nomination process, call the Community Foundation at 267-1901.
