NOBLE COUNTY – Two North Webster residents were flown to Fort Wayne Friday morning following a one-vehicle collision in Noble County.
Anthony Helman, 30, and Shantel Lawlor, 31, both of North Webster, were flown by Samaritan to Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Friday morning.
According to the Noble County Sheriff’s Department accident report, NCSD was called to a home in the 5100 block of West CR 100S at 3:45 a.m., referencing a suspicious female in the homeowner’s vehicle.
When deputies arrived they found Lawlor in the passenger side of the homeowner’s vehicle. She complained of chest pain and difficulty breathing.
Deputies then discoverered that Lawlor had been in a collision and was attempting to get help.
Lawlor was a passenger in a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Helman, when he lost control of the vehicle that was traveling westbound on CR 100S. After the vehicle left the roadway it struck several trees and an embankment that caused the vehicle to roll. At that time the driver was ejected from the vehicle.
Deputies believe that alcohol is a causing factor in the collision.
As of press time Lawlor was listed in fair condition and Helman was in critical condition.
