Country musician Tanya Tucker will not perform at the July 25 Warsaw Parks Department's summer concert series country concert in Central Park.

Janelle Wilson, Warsaw Parks Department activities director, during Friday's Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety meeting announced Country Musician Joe Nichols will perform in place of Tucker.

Nichols will perform a free concert at 8 p.m. July 25 at Central Park.

The Hunter Brucks Band will still open for Nichols at 6:30 p.m. July 25.

Wilson said she received a phone call Monday night from Tucker's agency informing her Tucker is recovering from a recent surgery and will not be able to perform in Warsaw.

"We are disappointed Tanya will not perform, but are glad we could bring another country musician to perform in Warsaw," Wilson said.

Nichols, 31, has 11 top 20 singles and four Grammy nominations.

Besides performing in Warsaw he also is scheduled to perform Aug. 15 at the Indiana State Fair with Sugarland.

When Nichols was 20 he made his debut in 1996 with a self-titled album on the independent Intersound label.

His 2002 single, "The Impossible" peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks, which was followed by the release of his platinum certified second album, "Man With A Memory."

The album also produced the number one single, "Brokenheartsville."

He followed up with the album "Man With A Memory" in 2004 with "Revelation" which included the top 10 hit "If Nobody Believed In You."

His fourth album, 2005's Gold-Certified III, produced his biggest hit to date in the number one single "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off."

In 2007, Nichols released the album "Real Things" which produced the top 20 hits "Another Side of You" and "It Ain't No Crime."
