New Paris Man Faces Drug Charges; Nabbed At Drug Store

A New Paris man faces several drug charges after he reportedly tried to purchase pseudoephedrine from a local pharmacy Monday afternoon.
Around 1:12 p.m. Monday, Kosciusko County Dispatch received a call about a person who was on the drug task force watch list trying to buy pseudoephedrine at the Walgreen's Drug Store at the intersection of Center Street and Argonne Road.Winona Lake Assistant Police Chief Mike Foster was close to the store and responded to the call, finding Douglas Wayne Fancil Jr., 35, of New Paris, who was trying to leave the store's parking lot.
Fancil reportedly had several precursors to manufacturing methamphetamine as well as items associated with the production of methamphetamine. He also had an outstanding warrant from Kosciusko County for restricted sale of ephedrine.
The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force was called to the scene to take care of the precursors.
Fancil was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school and driving while suspended. His bond was set at $21,000.
