New Fund To Benefit Soil And Water Conservation Efforts
Posted
Staff Report-
Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District fund recently was established at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
The fund will provide support for natural resource conservation efforts that benefit Kosciusko County.
"The goal of this fund is to provide monies for unique conservation projects that have inadequate funding available through traditional cost-share sources. Because we live in a county with an abundant and diverse natural resource base, we are excited about the possibilities and opportunities this fund will provide," said Darci Zolman, program administrator for the Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District.
Conservation projects considered for funding could include wetland or wildlife habitat restoration and enhancement, soil quality enhancement, erosion reduction, water quality protection, forestry projects and educational outreach.
Donations to the fund are now being accepted and can be made to Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation Inc. has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community.
The Community Foundation is a public charity, and gifts made to the foundation are tax-deductible.
