Main Street Warsaw has partnered with property owner Angie Racolta of The Racolta Group and Blue River Digital to install new Downtown Warsaw branded signage on the south and east sides of the building at 220 S. Buffalo St.
The new signage adds another visible element of the Downtown Warsaw brand while helping create a welcoming and recognizable gateway into the downtown district, according to a news release from Main Street Warsaw.
Main Street Warsaw launched the new Downtown Warsaw brand earlier this year as part of an effort to better promote downtown as a destination. The initiative was identified as a priority in the Downtown Warsaw Cultural Arts District Plan, which provides a guide for strengthening downtown’s identity, public spaces, arts and cultural offerings.
The signage project represents a partnership between Main Street Warsaw and Racolta, who owns the 220 S. Buffalo St. property. Blue River Digital completed the installation of the branded signage.
“Projects like this are a great example of what can happen when property owners and community organizations come together with a shared vision for downtown,” said Terry Sweeney, downtown development director for Main Street Warsaw. “The Downtown Warsaw brand gives us another way to create a strong sense of place and help people recognize and connect with our downtown. We are grateful to Angie for embracing the vision and investing in this part of downtown.”
Racolta said she was inspired by the Downtown Warsaw Cultural Arts District Plan and the continued momentum taking place throughout the downtown area.
“I was excited to see the vision outlined in the Downtown Warsaw Cultural Arts District Plan and wanted to find a way to be part of that momentum,” said Racolta. “Our downtown has so much character and potential, and I’m happy that this building can contribute to that vision.”
The 220 S. Buffalo St. property will also become home to a future gateway mural on the building’s south wall. Main Street Warsaw is working with Racolta to bring public art to the space as part of the broader goals outlined in the Downtown Warsaw Cultural Arts District Plan. The mural is intended to enhance the downtown streetscape, encourage visitation and create an interactive destination for residents and visitors, the news release states.
Through continued partnerships with downtown property owners, businesses, artists and community organizations, Main Street Warsaw is working to build upon the momentum of downtown Warsaw and create a destination that is welcoming, vibrant and reflective of the community, the release states.
