National City Bank will cease to exist starting June 14.
The transition of the 29 branches, including six area locations, to PNC Bank is fast approaching.
Locally, there are currently National City Bank locations in Leesburg, Etna Green, Milford, Pierceton and two in Warsaw.
In Warsaw, the location at 102 S. Buffalo Street, across from the Kosciusko County Courthouse, will move to Market Street in Warsaw to the former Symmetry Medical building.
It will be located adjacent to a National City drive-through branch that will remain open as a PNC location.
All the other locations locally will remain open as PNC Banks starting June 14.
"This represents an opportunity for National City customers to become a part of one of the nation's strongest banking institutions, as well as a leading bank in the region," said Mike Eikenberry, PNC's regional president for northeast Indiana, who has 12 years of experience with National City and more than 40 years of banking experience in the Fort Wayne market. "We bring the resources of the nation's fifth largest bank to customers, while maintaining local decision-making and an ongoing commitment to our area. We've long been a leader in this community, and now that we are PNC, we're even stronger."
National City customers already have received information regarding their accounts and how they'll transition to PNC.
"For our customers, we've learned the importance of making this transition easy for them," said Michael Joyce, retail market manager for Indiana. "We started communicating to them three months ago and are confident based on eight integrations during the past five years that we are ready for a successful conversion."
Joyce noted that during conversion weekend, PNC is adding call center staff to answer questions.
