Nappanee Teen Hurt In Wreck

NAPPANEE - A Nappanee teen was injured in an early Thursday morning accident in northwest Kosciusko County.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to CRs 950W and 1350N near Nappanee around 2 a.m. Thursday.
When police arrived, they found a 1993 tan Mercury Marquis in the yard of 13908 N. CR 950W.
The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene, leaving Lloyd A. Slabaugh, 17, of 71915 CR 3, Nappanee, in the vehicle.
Slabaugh suffered lacerations and a puncture wound to his back. He was transported to Elkhart General Hospital where he was treated and released.
Although the police didn't name the driver of the vehicle, the vehicle is registered to Joan Crafton of 147-1/2 Meadows, Nappanee.
KCSD was assisted at the scene by Nappanee police, EMS and fire departments and the Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team.
