MutualBank Helps Fund New CCS Building

MutualBank Charitable Foundation is helping fund the building of the new Combined Community Services building in Kosciusko County.

On Sept. 26, the Foundation announced the awarding of a $10,000 grant to help fund the building of the new CCS facility. The grant will be put toward the construction of the new facility on Mariner Drive in Warsaw. The construction is scheduled to be completed in June.

Currently, CCS has reached more than 80 percent of its total building fund project goal of $1.7 million, according to a press release from MutualBank. This project is under a time pressure as the lease of the current building on Prairie Street is up in June.

CCS Executive Director Stephen Possell said, “We’re definitely coming down the home stretch in raising the capital funds. This will help toward the capital campaign. The banks coming together is a big help.”

CCS has $50,000 left to raise toward the K21 Foundation match of $200,000, which must be raised by December.

“We still have $200,000 to raise,” Possell said.

“One of the things we’re focused on is being involved in the community,” said Vince Turner, MutualBank vice president, regional manager.

If you look at its best practices and what CCS does, Turner said, CCS’s record and scope of work in Kosciusko County is “the kind of thing we enjoy being a part of because the work they do multiples itself.”

CCS’ motto is “Helping Neighbors, Help Neighbors”. The collaboration of churches, businesses, foundations and individuals enables CCS to help others to achieve a higher quality of life. MutualBank is proud to partner and support CCS as they look for new ways to remove barriers for low-income residents of Kosciusko County, according to the press release.

The MutualBank Charitable Foundation was created to establish a permanent source of funding for charitable causes in the MutualBank market areas, ensuring the continuation of the MutualBank heritage of supporting the community.
