Mother, Son Arrested for Shoplifting Cologne, Condoms

An Atwood mother and son were arrested Wednesday afternoon after shoplifting cologne and condoms from K-Mart. Jody B. Torpy, 47, of 214 E. High St., Atwood, and her son, Finn E. Torpy, 18, same address, were in the cosmetics section of KMart Wednesday, as Jody was observed placing items into her purse, according to a Warsaw Police Department report. It was discovered the two were trying to make away with two bottles of cologne, one Adidas and one Calvin Klein, and a box of Trojan condoms. The total cost of items adds up to roughly $70 before taxes. Both Torpys were booked into Kosciusko County Jail on $2,000 bond each.
