Mission Point Community Church Names Rob Bergman New Lead Pastor

WINONA LAKE – Mission Point Community Church selected Rob Bergman as the organization’s new lead pastor.
Bergman comes to Winona Lake from Columbia City and will begin work on July 5, according to a news release from the church.
Bergman brings over 25 years of local church ministry experience. He spent the last five years serving as executive pastor at First Church of God in Columbia City. His robust theological training includes earning a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology from Asbury University.
Mission Point, founded in 2010, began with a vision of reaching those in Kosciusko County not currently affiliated with a church. Since then, the church has prioritized showing and sharing the love of Jesus with an emphasis on caring for vulnerable children through local and international mission partnerships.
“I’ve long been familiar with Mission Point’s work as an uncommon church looking to not only learn about the love of Jesus, but show and share his love with those around us,” Bergman said. “Over the last 16 years, this church has done exceptional work in the community, and I’m excited to be part of that.”
Mission Point began the search for a new lead pastor following the departure of its founding pastor last summer.
“Finding a lead pastor to continue implementing our mission was a daunting task, and we feel confident Bergman is the right person for the role. He understands our church while bringing a fresh vision about how to continue our mission,” said Tyler Todd, chair of the Elder Board.
Bergman’s first Sunday will include an outdoor service at Mission Point’s Winona Lake campus.
