Only minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of East Center and North Harrison streets, Warsaw.
The collision occurred at about 7:53 a.m., according to a Warsaw Police Department report.
The driver of a silver 2004 Hyundai UT, Jacklyn M. Gorski, 34, Orland Park, Ill., said she was driving east on East Center Street. At the intersection with North Harrison Street, she got into the left turn lane to go left on North Harrison Street. She had a green light.
Gorski said she saw the gold 2002 Lexus RX3, driven by Ryan C. Ohning, 28, Fort Wayne, going west but thought she had enough time to turn before Ohning entered the intersection. She turned in front of the Lexus and the two vehicles collided.
Gorski’s Hyundai was flipped on its left side. She was safely able to exit the vehicle through the trunk. She complained of injury to her left shoulder and chest from the seatbelt, but refused treatment by EMS.
Ohning said he was traveling west on East Center Street, approaching the intersection at North Harrison Street. He said he had a green light and proceeded west through the intersection, the WPD crash report states.
Gorski then turned left in front of him and he was unable to stop to avoid a collision.
Ohning complained of pain in his right knee, but refused treatment by EMS.
Three witnesses told WPD that Gorski turned in front of Ohning.
