To celebrate the end of an extensive construction and remodeling project, the employees and residents of Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw are hosting an open house for the community Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. to showcase the new Rehabilitation Center at Miller’s and the Living Well Fitness Center. Accessible through the new facility entrance and reception area, the 7,700-square-foot addition will provide present and future patients with use of new therapy equipment and a new therapeutic pool as a part of their recuperation following surgery or illness. The Living Well Fitness Center will be open to the public for ages 50 and over, and features a range of exercise equipment along with use of the therapeutic pool and shower rooms. In addition, Miller’s has partnered with the YMCA to host Silver Sneakers classes in the new Fitness Center, which will include yoga and water aerobics. The surroundings also feature a large community room complete with audio visual set-up and a kitchenette with seating for up to 50 people, which will be available to be reserved by members of the Warsaw community for public gatherings of civic, cultural, education or celebratory nature. Plans also are underway to use the area for regular educational presentations hosted by the facility and other community agencies, according to the event announcement from Miller’s. “As employee-owners of our company, we are proud not only of our long history in the Warsaw community, our experienced staff, and our quality ratings, but also of these new accommodations which give us even more ways to serve our patients and our neighbors,” said Patrick Boyle, president and CEO, in the announcement. Jason Hill, executive director of the Warsaw campus, said, “We are pleased to offer an expanded approach to rehab here at Miller’s, duplicating many real life situations to help individuals successfully transition back home. I hope many will come to tour, meet our staff and therapists and enjoy our open house.” Miller’s Health Systems Inc. is an employee-owned Indiana company operating 34 rehabilitation facilities, 12 assisted living communities, a therapy company and a home health company.
