Posted

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility at 1634 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, was held Thursday evening. Participating were: three generations of the Miller family; the three women who are featured in advertising with the red Corvette - Helen Hoy, North Webster, and Dorothy Hollar and Mary Lois Swain, both of Warsaw; Joy McCarthy-Sessing, president of the Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber Of Commerce; and State Sen. Kent Adams.

A public open house was held Sunday. For more information or for a personal tour, call Susan Shepherd or Nancy Derry, community relations directors, at 267-5292, or stop by.

The units available include two sizes of studio and one-bedroom apartments. Each apartment includes a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator/freezer, and at least one large walk-in closet. Residents may furnish and decorate the apartment according to personal taste. There are a number of gathering areas throughout, with some in the wide hallways, near residents' rooms, and others in separate rooms, which also can be used as social rooms.

Other amenities include restaurant-style dining, laundry and housekeeping services, medication reminders, transportation for appointments or shopping and an emergency call system.

Miller's Merry Manor was established in 1964 by the late Connie and Wallace Miller Sr., in their former country home, south of Warsaw. The Miller family, sons V. Richard and James Miller and daughters Beverly Marshall and Barb Miller, continue their involvement in the company and serve as the board of directors of Miller's Health Systems.

Miller's Health Systems, the parent company of Miller's Merry Manor, operates 30 health care facilities and seven assisted living facilities in Indiana. Patrick Boyle, Warsaw, who has been with the organization since 1984, is the president and CEO. Today the Warsaw location offers a full continuum of senior services, including a Medicare-certified rehabilitation center in addition to assisted living.
