Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins previously announced he will not seek another term.
Tony Miller, 727 N. Detroit St., Warsaw, filed at 10:30 this morning for the mayor seat, according to the county clerk's office.
Current at-large City Councilman Joe Thallemer previously filed for the Warsaw mayor seat.
The primary is May 3, and the general election is Nov. 8.
It is Miller's second time for running for a political office.
Miller previously ran against County Commissioner Ron Truex in 2000, but Miller was defeated.
During a telephone interview this morning, Miller, who is president of Instrumedical Technologies Inc., said he wants to do what is right for the city and decided to run.
He said he is concerned with Thallemer's past voting history.
"Joe's idea of what is right and my idea of what is right are different," Miller said.
Miller said he does not agree with Thallemer's votes against Meijer that was presented to the city council in 2000, and his votes against Martin's and Menard's.
"I would welcome the businesses with open arms," Miller said.
