Milford Woman Hurt In Crash

A Milford woman is in critical condition this morning after a Saturday afternoon accident.

Linda Gerencser, 53, of Milford, was airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, after the 1995 Ford Mustang she was driving hit a tree around 4:31 p.m. Saturday. Gerencser was driving on Ind 15, north of CR 900N between Leesburg and Milford, at the time of the accident.

According to witnesses, Gerencser was driving in an erratic manner before she hit the tree.

The vehicle also was involved in a collision less than two miles from the place where it hit the tree. According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Gerencser reportedly left the scene of the first accident, then passed vehicles on the right side of the road before hitting the tree.

Gerencser was flown from the scene of the accident to Parkview Hospital by the Samaritan Air Ambulance. She has been in critical condition since she was admitted to the hospital.

Alcohol is believed to be involved in the accident.

The Indiana State Police, Milford Police Department, Multi-Township EMS, Milford EMS, Milford Fire Department, Leesburg Fire Department and Samaritan Air Ambulance assisted the Kosciusko County Police Department at the scene of the crash.
