A Milford woman faces several charges after allegedly breaking into a man’s home and hitting him several times.
Hannah Marie Fisher, 27, of 10549 N. CR 200E, Milford, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:33 p.m. Saturday for battery, a Class B misdemeanor; residential entry, a level 6 felony; and criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor. Her bond was set at $5,000 surety and $250 cash.
On Saturday, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Shane Bucher responded to a residential entry complaint. He spoke with a man who said Fisher entered his home uninvited by breaking the handle off the locked screen door.
The man went next door to report the incident to his landlord, North Webster Chief of Police Greg Church. When the man returned, Fisher had placed one of his sweatshirts in the sink and lit it on fire.
Fisher tried to take possession of the man’s cellphone and as the man tried to protect the phone, Fisher began hitting him on the face, chest and groin, causing him pain.
During the altercation, Fisher broke a necklace the man was wearing and took his glasses, which were found broken on the front yard.
Warsaw Police officers found Fisher. She admitted to them she went into the man’s home uninvited, lit his sweatshirt on fire and hit him.
