Milford Man Transported To Hospital After Mo-Ped Accident

SYRACUSE – A Milford man was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital Friday night after a mo-ped accident in Syracuse. According to a press release from Jim Layne, Syracuse police chief, at approximately 2:02 p.m. Friday, Syracuse Police and Turkey Creek Township medics responded to a single mo-ped accident on CR 1300N between Syracuse-Webster and Kern Roads. On arrival they found the mo-ped operator, Terry E. Powell, 52, Milford, unresponsive. The Parkview Samaritan Helicopter was requested but the patient was later transported by ambulance to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, were the victim was listed in critical condition Friday night. The initial investigation determined that Powell was westbound on CR 1300N when, for unknown reason, he lost control of the mo-ped and drove off the right side of the roadway, resulting in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
