NORTH MANCHESTER – The North Manchester Town Council welcomed a new Ordinance Officer during its meeting Wednesday night. Larry Hayes, the Huntington Ordinance officer for the past nine years, will take over the same responsibilities for North Manchester on a part time basis. He will work mainly on Saturdays, and is going to be tasked with the responsibility of enforcing general ordinance rules for the town of North Manchester. Hayes is a 16- year veteran of the force and also coaches football at Huntington Middle School. In other business, the council heard from Dan Hannaford, town manager, on the continuing progress of the downtown construction project. Hannaford told the council that things were still progressing, and that electrical issues had come up that still needed to be addressed.
