Man Nabbed In Elkhart Wanted On Local Charges

ELKHART - A fugitive from Ohio facing charges in Kosciusko County was apprehended in Elkhart Tuesday.

Officers located and arrested Dallas Honeycutt, 49, at 11:45 a.m., while he was at 1530 S. Main St., Elkhart.

New information had recently been obtained as to the possible whereabouts of Honeycutt through an anonymous source and the residence was staked out.

Honeycutt had been living at the residence for several months under the name of Dale. Honeycutt was wanted out of Scioto County, Ohio, on a probation violation, and a failure to appear warrant.

Local authorities have been trying to track down Honeycutt for nearly a year on charges in Kosciusko County. Honeycutt was wanted on three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a class A misdemeanor; one count of child solicitation, a class D felony; and felony sexual charges. The original warrant was issued Feb. 5, 2010.

Honeycutt was taken to the Elkhart County Jail before being transferred to the Kosciusko County Jail, where is being held on a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 5, and will eventually be transferred back to Scioto County to face charges there.

Indiana State Police made the arrest, assisted by the United States Marshals Task Force.
