A Warsaw man is out on bail after allegedly leaving an injured woman behind after he drove his motorcycle into a ditch early Wednesday morning.
According to police, at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, Mark A. Osbun II, 37, of 8280 E. U.S. 30, Lot 114, Pierceton, was eastbound on CR 300N with Michelle L. Kistler, 38, of 1806 Pike Shore Drive, Warsaw, a passenger on his 2001 Harley Davidson.Osbun allegedly drove off the road, rolled over and came to rest in a ditch on the south side of CR 300N. Osbun allegedly left the scene with Kistler in the ditch.
Kistler suffered a fractured leg.
Kosciusko County Sherrif's Deputy Shawn Castillo received the call that a driver had left a personal injury accident on CR 300N.
While on U.S. 30E, Castillo observed Osbun on the motorcycle and proceeded to pull him over.
Castillo noted in a report that he could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Osbun.
Osbun allegedly told Castillo that he was in an accident and had "about four beers about an hour prior to being stopped."
Osbun's blood alcohol content tested at .13. The legal limit is .08.
Osbun was charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
Osbun was charged with the felony because he has a prior conviction.
Osbun was held on $10,000 bond at Kosciusko County Jail, but has since bonded out.
