A Winona Lake man was arrested early this morning after fleeing from police.

Casey Allen May, 24, of 901 Tennis St., Winona Lake, was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on charges of driving while intoxicated, resisting/fleeing law enforcement and carrying/possession of a handgun without a permit.

He was held on a $550 bond.

According to a report from Warsaw Police Department officer Brandon Zartman, he observed May driving his vehicle in the area of Culligan Water in Boggs Industrial Park in Warsaw.

May allegedly hit a chain-link fence and then proceeded to drive behind the business.

Zartman entered in a pursuit with May, and soon after the chase started May exited his car and fled on foot.

After several minutes, Zartman apprehended May in the area of 1548 W. Center St.

After taking May into custody, a search of his car was conducted where Zartman's report stated there was a handgun inside.
