Man Accused of Child Molestation Would Get Eight Years

Kosciusko County Superior I Judge Duane Huffer heard a plea agreement proposal from an accused child molestor this morning.
Steven Lawrence, 41, of Warsaw, pleaded guilty to child molestation, a Class C felony. In return for his plea the state of Indiana agreed to dismiss count one, child molesting, a Class A felony.
If the plea is accepted then Lawrence will be sentenced to eight years in prison. Lawrence was represented by attorney Brad Voelz.
Lawrence admitted to molesting a girl under the age of 14 in August 2010. Lawrence informed police that while his wife was in jail he molested a young girl in their home.
Lawrence was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Dec. 10, 2011, on $20,000 bond. As of press time he is in jail.
