Malvin Andersen, 95, Warsaw, and formerly of Gardena, Calif., and Lake Havasu, Ariz., passed away at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 6, 2014, in Mason’s Health and Rehab facility, Warsaw.
He was born Dec. 9, 1918, in Duluth, Minn., to Ludvig and Eline Faksvaag Andersen. In 1942, in Los Angeles, he married Margaret Mary Ann Grace, his wife of 38 years, who died in 1980. In 1990, he married Kathryn Tyler Spears, who died in 2008.
He met Opal Plummer in Lake Havasu in 2009 and she became his companion. They moved to Warsaw in summer 2013.
He worked as a tile setter for most of his career in Los Angeles, and later retired to Lake Havasu. He was a member of the Elks, Moose and VFW organizations.
Surviving are his son with Margaret Mary Ann Grace, Mark Louis Andersen; two grandchildren, Margaret-Rose and Casey Alexander Andersen, both of Santa Clarita, Calif.; and one sister, Edith Kynell, Duluth, Minn. He was preceded in death by a daughter with his wife Margaret Mary Ann Grace, Loretta Andersen, who died a few hours after her birth.
