NORTH WEBSTER - Riders, parents and volunteers from The Magical Meadows gathered Jan. 23 at the North Webster Community Center to recognize outstanding ridership and volunteerism for 2009.

Cory Hilgenberg received the Rider of the Year Award. Hilgenberg, a three-year rider, was the first official rider scheduled at The Magical Meadows in 2006. He is the son of Dr. John and Cindy Hilgenberg, Leesburg, and a 2008 graduate of Wawasee High School. John and Cindy are also the co-chairs of the building campaign "Walk On ... Build On!" for the new indoor riding arena.

The Volunteer of the Year Award went to Jeri Swihart, Mentone. Swihart is a member of the Parent Advisory Team and the volunteer coordinator who spends countless hours scheduling all of the volunteers for class instruction, stable work, event planning, etc.
