Candidates running for sheriff of Kosciusko County will have a chance to compare issues face-to-face next Tuesday.
Taxpayers Action Network will host a forum Tuesday night in downtown Warsaw. TAN also plans to host a forum for candidates for prosecutor in April.
The sheriff's candidate forum is open to the public and starts at 7 p.m. at city council chambers.
Organizers say the meeting will not be operated as a debate. However, questions for the candidates will be accepted through e-mail and prior to the meeting, said Elizabeth Cole, spokesperson for TAN.
The e-mail address is taxactnet@aol.com to submit questions.
Cole said all of the eight candidates from the Republican and Democrat parties were invited.
Interest in the forum has been strong from candidates and the media, she said.
The forum will include an opportunity for each candidate to introduce himself, and the question-and-answer format will be conducted as fairly as possible with questions pertaining to issues and not personalities, Cole said.
Rich Burkett will serve as moderator, she said.
TAN has tentatively scheduled a forum for April 14 for the three Republican candidates running for prosecutor.
