Local Girl Gets A Wish From Make-A-Wish Foundation

Kailey Zehr loves princess stories, animals and all things Disney.

So when she had an opportunity to make a wish, she wished for a trip to Disney World, where she hoped to see Arielle from "Little Mermaid." Last Wednesday, Kailey's wish began to come true as a luxury limousine arrived at her home in Warsaw to take Kailey and her family to the airport to begin a trip to Florida and the Magic Kingdom.

Family and friends were on hand to see the Zehrs off. Kailey's parents, Henry and Sherry Zehr, expressed their appreciation to those who came out and for all of the community support they've received. The Zehrs are teachers at Eisenhower Elementary School, and several fellow teachers and school staff members were on hand to celebrate Kailey's wish coming true.

"It truly does take a community to raise a child," Henry Zehr said. The Zehrs thanked the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Warsaw Community Church, Eisenhower Elementary School, Hall & Marose Insurance and family and friends for their support.

Kailey's previous case manager at the Good Samaritan Fund and the nurses at Dr. Lasseter's office applied to the Make-A-Wish Foundation on Kailey's behalf.

Kailey was born with Turner's Syndrome and later diagnosed with Congenital Arteriovenus Malformation, a rare and life-threatening vascular disorder.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
